A New Nature” To be sanctified is to be set apart from sin. All believers in Christ have been freed from sin’s bondage and set apart unto God, or sanctified. Sanctification is not a one time event but a lifelong process whereby as we grow in Christ, we become more and more separated from sin and brought more and more into conformity with Christ. Another way to look at it is the idea of being transformed or given a “new nature” by God. Colossians 3:1-17 paints a great picture of of this transformation ……and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator (col 3:10).
